The client had a newly added large kitchen extension – 6.5m long by 3.5 m wide and was open to suggestions re design and how to best use the space. He wanted a social feel to the kitchen and had an idea for a drinks island.

  • There was also a specific list of Siemens and Liebheer appliances to accommodate i.e: Coffee machine, wine fridge, steam oven. There was a tiny window which added little so we first suggested to open it up to better complement the size and look of the kitchen.

The freestanding island was the focal point for socialising. This was designed without a sink, but with a drainage system to accommodate the usage of for a special hot / cold water / sparkling water tap. Many units in the kitchen were adapted to avoid any gaps where sizing wasn’t standard to ensure perfect alignment.
