Contemporary kitchen in hampton

The Client Brief

William and Elizabeth had a new rear extension added and now had a large open space to work with. They wanted the kitchen to become the new centre of their home and to be able to see the garden.

Elizabeth loves cooking, she wanted it to become more of an experience, after living with a ‘make do’ kitchen for a number of years, she now wanted her perfect kitchen to cook and entertain.

The Challenge

William and Elizabeth had bespoke ideas for what they wanted. Elizabeth’s love of baking meant she used various appliances on a regular basis. She wanted a space where she could use these appliances and effectively close the door on them when finished – she didn’t want the continued hassle of constantly taking them out of cupboards and then storing them away again.

Likewise for how they used all their breakfast making appliances

What we did

From the Pronorm range we created non-standard sized units that would create two stations – a baking station and a breakfast station – that were either side of the cookers.

They were bespoke designed. The Baking Station housed a work-shelf for the mixer, blender, scales etc and was fitted with plug sockets – this meant Elizabeth could bake with all her appliances in one place – and other than to wash things had no need to keep removing or storing. Beneath the baking unit were 2 deep drawers where she could keep all her ingredients for ease of access.

The Breakfast Station worked in the same way but with storage for the toaster and breakfast food.

End result
