Following a basement conversion, the kitchen brief was to create a social space to cook and eat, whilst finding  away to give the impression of light and warmth, bearing in mind the lack of natural light. The floor was created using white poured resin to give light. We then offset this with dark striking kitchen units.

  • We added a dark wood laminate breakfast bar and open shelves to create contrast in texture and warmth to the space. The back wall contained all the appliances and storage space as well as hiding the boiler.

The main feature was the large imposing island with a plastered finish surrounding the open box shelf on the dining side. Due to the kitchen being in the basement, access was an issue therefore Corian was used as a worktop as this can be made up of several pieces and joined together with invisible joins.
